The Impact of Coaching Leadership of Hair Salon Managers on Problem-Solving Ability and Job Performance

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of coaching leadership of hair salon managers on the problem-solving ability and job performance of the salons¡¯ members so as to propose a method to improve job performance.
Method: The data of the 378 questionnaires administered to hair salon workers in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas were analyzed by frequency analysis and reliability analysis by employing SPSS 22.0. Furthermore, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis were performed using AMOS 21.0.
Results: The results revealed that coaching leadership has a significant effect on problem-solving ability and job performance. Furthermore, problem-solving ability has a significant effect on job performance. Consequently, it can be deduced that coaching leadership is an important factor involved in enhancing job performance.
Conclusion: First, the task evaluation system should be eliminated and efforts should be made to develop competencies. Second, specific directions and aims should be provided. Third, a positive relationship between managers and members should be cultivated.
